What is REG1T?
REG1T is a new very simple way of sending short messages to someone by using a public identifier, like a vehicle registration number.
How do you pronounce REG1T?
It's in two parts. REG (the short version of registration), rhyming with "ledge", then 1T is just pronounced "it".
Can I send private messages?
No. Not at the moment. No message on REG1T should be treated as private.
If you wouldn't be happy shouting your message out in the middle of a busy shopping centre, the don't type it into REG1T!
Do I have to sign in with a registration?
No. You can use anything to identify yourself, but if you don't have some way for other people to recognise you, you won't receive any messages.
Can more than one person sign in with the same registration?
Yes, in fact, that's part of the idea.
Several passengers in a vehicle can all sign in using the same registration and see all messages sent to that registration.
How do I know the authenticity of the sender?
You don't. REG1T is for convenience and fun only. Don't believe everything you read.
Can I be sure that my message was received?
No. You don't even know if the registration you are sending to even has the app, let alone whether they are signed in!
Is there a version of REG1T for iPhone™?
Not yet. Maybe... if there's enough demand.
If you want to influence this, see our surveys page.
Can I suggest a new feature?
Please do. Just send us an e-mail
